Allen Knutson is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell University. His research focuses on algebraic geometry and algebraic combinatorics, with recent work involving algebraic varieties with large symmetry groups, such as toric varieties, flag manifolds, Schubert varieties, and quiver cycles. He has contributed to the study of these objects through combinatorial methods, breaking them into simpler components for analysis. Knutson's publications include significant contributions to the fields of Schubert polynomials, quiver polynomials, and the geometry of Grassmannians.
