Kathryn Mann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds the Joyce A. Yelencsics ‘65 & Frederick M. Rosevear ‘64 Faculty Leadership Fellow title. Her research focuses on geometric topology, geometric group theory, and low-dimensional dynamics, particularly the study of actions of infinite groups on manifolds. She is interested in understanding the structure of homeomorphism groups of manifolds and their interplay with topology and algebraic structure. Her work includes investigations into moduli spaces of group actions, character varieties, and spaces of flat bundles. Mann's research has been published in journals such as Inventiones Mathematicae and Geometry & Topology.
