Regular biography
John-Ross Rizzo is the Chair of Mechanical Engineering at New York University. His research focuses on assistive and rehabilitative technologies, particularly in the areas of mobility for individuals with visual impairments and stroke recovery. Rizzo is affiliated with the Biomedical Engineering Department and is involved in projects such as the development of wearable systems and navigation apps to enhance independence for people with disabilities. His work is supported by NYU WIRELESS and includes collaborations with NYU Langone Medical Center and the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
