Regular biography
Jeremy Teo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at New York University. He is also affiliated with Biomedical Engineering. Teo directs the Laboratory for Immuno Bioengineering Research and Applications (LIBRA) at NYU Abu Dhabi. His research interests include immune-mechanobiology, focusing on the implications of natural and synthetic microenvironmental cues in immune biology. He aims to apply this knowledge to modulate immune outcomes through bioengineering strategies. Teo received his Ph.D. from the School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, with thesis work integrating interventional radiology and engineering. He holds a Masters in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, as well as a Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. His postdoctoral training was at École Polytechnic Fédérale de Lausanne and Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology.
