Regular biography
Nicholas DiZinno is an Industry Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at New York University Tandon School of Engineering. He earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and later pursued graduate studies at Polytechnic University, earning both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. DiZinno has held academic positions at Queensborough Community College, SUNY Maritime College, and as an adjunct faculty member at Polytechnic University and NYU Tandon from 2008-2018. He joined NYU Tandon full-time in 2018 as an Industry Associate Professor and was promoted to Industry Professor in 2022. His research interests include high-speed aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and heat transfer. He teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses and is actively involved in academic committees and departmental activities.
