Rakesh Behera

Rakesh Behera is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at New York University. His research interests include materials for energy applications, computational materials science, ferroelectric/multiferroics, nuclear materials, and organic co-crystals. Behera holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida. He has been affiliated with New York University since September 2016 and is associated with the Composite Materials and Mechanics Laboratory, which focuses on lightweight, damage-tolerant materials and the role of porosity. His academic and research career includes positions at Louisiana State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
