Dr Hyun-Jung Lee

Dr Hyun-Jung Lee is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Cross Cultural Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research focuses on the similarities and differences across sociocultural categories such as culture, ethnicity, gender, and ideology. Trained as a psychologist, she explores intra-individual, group, and organisational processes that facilitate collaboration across organisational, national, and symbolic boundaries. Dr Lee has published in leading management journals and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Seoul National University, and her PhD from LSE. Her extensive travel experience has influenced her research on cross-cultural management. She is an active member of the Academy of International Business and the Academy of Management.

Hyun-Jung (HJ) Lee is a researcher at the London School of Economics, focusing on Cross Cultural Management, Cosmopolitanism, Migration & Acculturation, and Intercultural Collaboration. Her work explores how cultural differences influence organizational behavior, employee satisfaction, and trust in multicultural settings. Lee's research also examines the role of cosmopolitanism in fostering intercultural collaboration and bridging cultural gaps in global workplaces. She investigates the impact of cultural competence, organizational identification, and gender dynamics on employee commitment and performance. Her studies highlight the importance of transcultural brokerage and generalized exchange orientation in managing diverse teams and promoting inclusive organizational practices.
