Professor Chrisanthi Avgerou

Professor Chrisanthi Avgerou is a Professor of Information Systems at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Management. Her research focuses on the socio-technical process of information technology (IT) innovation and its socio-economic impact across different contexts. She has conducted extensive case studies on IT and organizational change in various countries, including Greece, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Ghana. Her work highlights the diverse impacts of IT innovation and the alternative rationalities shaping its development. Professor Avgerou has been at LSE since 1986, starting as a lecturer and becoming a professor in 2003. She has supervised 15 PhD students and contributed to international academic organizations such as IFIP and AIS.
