Shunji ISHIHARA

Shunji ISHIHARA is a Professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Faculty of Economics, The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on the social and economic history of Sweden and the history of economic thought in Sweden. His work primarily examines the historical analysis of the welfare state and modernization processes in Sweden, with particular attention to social democracy, labor movements, and industrial relations. ISHIHARA has published extensively on these topics, including articles in journals such as The Journal of Economics (The University of Tokyo) and contributions to edited volumes on Swedish welfare society and the Swedish model. His research also explores the development of the Swedish welfare state through the interwar period and its connections to local societies and industrial practices.
