Shintaro YAMAGUCHI

Shintaro YAMAGUCHI is a Professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Faculty of Economics, The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on Labour Economics, Economics of the Family, and Economics of Education. He examines how policies influence gender gaps in pay and employment, parental leave, childcare, and child development. YAMAGUCHI has published extensively in top journals, including studies on universal early childhood education, workplace culture, and the gender employment gap. He is a Research Fellow at IZA@LISER and an External Research Fellow at CReAM, University College London. Since 2021, he has served as a Private Sector Member of the Cabinet Office Council for Gender Equality.
