Regular biography
Kaoru IRIE is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at The University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on Bayesian analysis, particularly in Bayesian dynamic modeling, time series analysis, statistical computation, and decision analysis. She has published extensively in journals such as Bayesian Analysis, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, and the Annals of Applied Statistics. Her work includes studies on data augmentation, robust regression, and sequential modeling of web traffic data. IRIE joined The University of Tokyo in 2016 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from Duke University and has contributed to the translation of Bayesian statistical methods into Japanese.
