Andrea Damascelli is a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at The University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on the electronic structure of quantum materials, particularly unconventional oxide superconductors. She utilizes spectroscopic techniques such as angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and resonant elastic x-ray scattering (REXS) to study the low-energy electronic structure of solids. Dr. Damascelli has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Director of the UBC Quantum Matter Institute and Scientific Director of the UBC Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute. She is a Canada Research Chair in the Electronic Structure of Quantum Materials and has received numerous awards, including the CAP/DCMMP Brockhouse Medal and Fellowships from the Royal Society of Canada, American Physical Society, and CIFAR Quantum Materials Program.
