Regular biography
Shaoping MA is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. His research interests include Web information processing, information retrieval, and Web data mining. He has focused on improving search performance through semantic mining of user behaviors, with projects spanning Web page quality estimation, spam page identification, and search engine query recommendation. His work has been adopted by Sogou.com, a popular search engine in China. MA has published numerous papers in top conferences and journals such as WWW, CIKM, and JASIST, and has filed several patents. He is also involved in various academic and professional societies, including the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.
