Dr. Yu Xiang is a Faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University in 2004 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Aijun Tong. Following postdoctoral research with Prof. Yi Lu at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2009 to 2012, Dr. Xiang joined Tsinghua University as an associate professor in 2012. His research focuses on sulfur chemistry for modified nucleic acids as tools in chemical biology, including sulfur chemistry for post-synthetic nucleic acid modification, chemically modified oligonucleotides for controlled gene editing, and in vitro selection of covalent oligonucleotide inhibitors of protein-protein interactions. He teaches Analytical Chemistry Experiments in Chemical Biology and serves on the editorial board of the journal Biosensors.
