Xia Yu

Xia Yu is a Faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Lanzhou University, M.S. from Shanghai Institute of Material Medical, CAS, and Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Scott A. McLuckey at Purdue University. After postdoctoral training with Professor Graham R. Cooks, she served as an Assistant and Associate Professor at Purdue University from 2009 to 2017. She joined Tsinghua University as a Professor in 2016. Her research focuses on radical chemistry for enhanced bioanalysis via mass spectrometry, with an emphasis on lipidomic tools for resolving structural isomers. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Mass Spectrometry and Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion of the International Lipidomics Society.

Yu Xia is a Professor of Chemistry at Tsinghua University, specializing in Analytical Chemistry. Their research focuses on developing advanced mass spectrometry techniques for the structural analysis of lipids, particularly the identification and quantitation of lipid isomers with high specificity. Key areas include the use of photochemical reactions, ion/ion reactions, and online derivatization methods to determine double bond positions and unsaturated lipid structures.
