Regular biography
Yu-Chong Tai is the Anna L. Rosen Professor of Electrical Engineering and Medical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology, Department of EE. His research focuses on Semiconductor/MEMS/NEMS technologies for medical applications, including medical devices, MEMS, Bio-MEMS, micromachining, lab-on-a-chip, microfluidics, drug delivery, and micro implants. He has established the Caltech MEMS Laboratory, an 8,000-square-foot facility dedicated to medical devices, supporting the development of innovative MEMS/NEMS and medical devices. His work includes projects such as HPLC-on-a-chip, wireless micro drug delivery, and micro implants for cortical, retinal, and spinal applications. Tai also collaborates with medical doctors and biologists to develop integrated implants for various medical purposes.
