Regular biography
NIE Jianguo is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. His research interests include steel-concrete composite structures, new structural systems and technologies, and rehabilitation techniques for existing structures. He has held various leadership roles within the university, including Director of the Institute of Structural Engineering and Director of the Key Laboratory of Civil Engineering Safety and Durability. NIE has supervised doctoral students and contributed to numerous research projects, including studies on high-performance steel-concrete composite bridge systems and modern steel-concrete composite structures. He has also served on multiple academic committees and editorial boards, and has received several awards for his contributions to civil engineering.
