Regular biography
CHENG Xiaohui is a Tenured Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. His research interests include constitutive modeling in soil mechanics and granular matters, energy geo-structures, space geotechnics, bio-soil interaction, and tunnels and foundations analysis. He has led numerous research projects, including international collaborations with institutions such as the European Space Agency and top universities in Europe and the United States. CHENG has also contributed to the development of industry standards and has authored several books and academic papers in both Chinese and international journals. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions Gold Award.
