Regular biography
KONG Xiangming is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. His research interests include low carbon cement and concrete, polymer-cement composites, and the interaction between organic molecules and inorganic mineral phases. He has conducted extensive experimental and computational studies on cement hydration, microstructure development, and the properties of cementitious materials. His work focuses on developing sustainable solutions for modern concrete technologies, including new binder systems and chemical admixtures. Kong has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in top journals such as Cement and Concrete Research and Materials and Structures. He has also been involved in several national research projects related to cementitious materials and their applications.
