Prof. Youngchul Kim is an urban designer, licensed architect, researcher, and educator at KAIST, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research areas focus on the history and theory of urban design and urban development, particularly examining human behavior and social responsibility in urban areas. He conducts urban design and urban analysis considering smart cities and climate change, utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches to uncover the invisible characteristics of cities. He teaches the design, theory, and history of architecture and urbanism. Prof. Kim also serves as Director of the Smart City Research Center at KAIST.
