Professor Emeritus Chang-Koon Choi is affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CE) at KAIST. His research focuses on Structural Dynamics and Vibration Control. He has contributed to the development of computational mechanics, including the finite element method, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and the creation of structural analysis programs such as FESA and BUILDS. He has also worked on wind engineering and the design of structures like cooling towers and curved box girder bridges. His career includes roles as a Professor at KAIST from 1983 to 2003, and he is currently an Emeritus Professor. He has been involved in numerous international conferences and journal publications.
