Kwak, Byungjin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration at KAIST. His research focuses on Accounting, with specific areas including Voluntary Disclosure, Corporate Governance, Legal Risk Management, Analysts’ Forecast, Earnings Management, and Accounting Conservatism. He holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University (2004), an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin (1996), and a BBA from Seoul National University (1991). Prior to his academic career, he worked at Samsung Electronics Co. and served as an Assistant Professor at Yonsei University. His publications include studies on topics such as deregulation, earnings management, and voluntary disclosures. His work has appeared in journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy.
