Daryl Yee

Daryl Yee is a Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE). His research is conducted in the Laboratory for the Chemistry of Materials and Manufacturing, where he focuses on molecular design and materials processing strategies to develop advanced functional materials. Yee's work addresses societal challenges in healthcare, energy, and climate change. He joined EPFL in March 2023 as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Microengineering. His academic background includes a B.Eng in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London, followed by MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Prior to EPFL, he was a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

His research focuses on advancing vat photopolymerization techniques to create complex 3D structures with multifunctional properties. Yee's work explores the synthesis of nanolabyrinthine materials, hydrogel-based additive manufacturing, and the design of supramolecular interfaces for nanoparticle superlattices. His publications highlight innovations in 3D-printed drug capture materials, reversible phase transitions, and the integration of DNA-functionalized scaffolds for biomedical applications. His research bridges materials science and engineering to enable novel manufacturing processes and functional materials.
