Regular biography
ZHANG Zheng is a professor in the Department of Development Economics at Peking University. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Tokyo University of Agriculture, where he was the first Chinese recipient of this degree. His academic career includes positions at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Norinchukin Bank, and Waseda University. He has also served as a guest professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include economic policy, industrial organization theory, environment economics, agricultural cooperation theory, East Asian economics, and Japanese economic systems. He teaches courses such as Development Economics, Japanese Economy and Finance, and Agricultural Economics.
