Dr Graham McShane
Regular biography
Dr Graham McShane is a University Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on materials engineering, including the study of composites, cellular materials, and lightweight structures. His work explores dynamic material behaviour, such as blast and impact resistance, as well as multi-scale modelling and additive manufacturing. Dr McShane's research projects cover impact damage mechanics, polymer-metal laminates, and auxetic materials for blast resistance. He is also involved in the modelling of grain boundary mechanics and aerogel composites for thermally efficient applications. His research group is part of the Mechanics, Materials and Design academic division.
