James Chanos is a Lecturer in the Practice of Management at Yale University's School of Management. He is the founder and managing partner of Kynikos Associates, an exclusive short-selling investment firm. Chanos has identified and sold short shares of several corporate financial disasters, including Enron, and has been recognized for his prescience in predicting the global financial crisis. He is chairman of the Coalition of Private Investment Companies and has testified before Congress and provided comments to regulatory proposals. Chanos received his BA in economics and political science from Yale University in 1980.
