Tony Sheldon is a Senior Lecturer in the Practice of Management at Yale School of Management. He is also a Senior Advisor to the Program on Social Enterprise, Innovation, and Impact (PSEII), having served as its Executive Director from 2008 to 2025. Sheldon teaches practicum courses on social entrepreneurship, with student teams working with organizations in Brazil, Kenya, the U.S., and other countries. His research focuses on economic development, emerging markets, entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, and social enterprise. Sheldon has worked with microfinance institutions in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, and has consulted for organizations such as the Ford Foundation, the World Bank, and Women's World Banking. His publications include Evidence in Practice and From Extreme Poverty to Sustainable Livelihoods.
