Mehran Tehrani is the Callaway Golf Endowed Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Structural Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on advanced multifunctional composites, integrating advanced manufacturing, materials science, and mechanics. His work includes automated fiber placement, additive manufacturing of polymer composites, and graphene-based structural composites. The Tehrani Group aims to expand knowledge in designing and manufacturing advanced composites while reducing costs and energy consumption. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, NASA, and other organizations. Before joining UCSD, he was an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of New Mexico.
