Regular biography
Charles R. Farrar is an Adjunct Professor in the Structural Engineering Department at the University of California, San Diego, where he has been affiliated since 2004. His research focuses on analytical and experimental solid mechanics, with an emphasis on structural dynamics. Farrar has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico’s Department of Mechanical/Civil Engineering from 1989 to 1996. His academic background includes a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University, an M.S. in Civil Engineering (Structural Mechanics) from the University of New Mexico, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Structural Mechanics) from the University of New Mexico. His work has contributed significantly to the field of structural health monitoring, with publications in leading journals.
