Gilberto Mosqueda is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on earthquake engineering, structural dynamics, seismic isolation and energy dissipation systems, and the seismic response of structural and nonstructural building systems. Mosqueda's work involves experimental evaluation of large-scale structural and nonstructural components under seismic and extreme loads, including hybrid simulation and numerical tools for structural response simulation.
