Hyunsun Kim

Dr. H Alicia Kim is a Professor in the Structural Engineering Department at the University of California, San Diego, and serves as Chair. Her research focuses on level set topology optimization, multiscale and multiphysics optimization, and modeling and optimization of composite materials and multifunctional structures. She develops and applies optimization methods for complex problems involving large-scale design variables, nonlinearity, and high computational cost. Dr. Kim works closely with multidisciplinary researchers and has published nearly 200 journal and conference papers in these fields. She is a Review Editor for the Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization journal.
