Richard Muntz

Richard Muntz is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a BEE from Pratt Institute (1963), an MEE from New York University (1966), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University (1969). He is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEE, and a member of Sigma Xi and Tau Beta Pi. His research interests include scientific database systems, multimedia storage and database systems, data mining, and computer system performance evaluation. He has served on the Board of Directors for SIGMETRICS and as chair of IFIP Working Group 7.3. He was editor-in-chief of ACM Computing Surveys from 1992 to 1995.
