Regular biography
Baharan Mirzasoleiman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include machine learning, data mining, optimization, and approximation algorithms. She is affiliated with the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering. Mirzasoleiman's work has been recognized with several awards, including the UCLA Society of Hellman Fellows 2024, the NSF CAREER Award 2022, the MIT Rising Star in EECS 2018, the ETH medal for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation 2017, the SNSF Early Postdoc Mobility Fellowship 2016, and the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship 2014. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from ETH Zurich, awarded in 2017.
