Steven Allen

Steven Allen is a Professor of Physics and of Particle Physics and Astrophysics at Stanford University, affiliated with the Physics Department and the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. His research focuses on Experimental and Observational Astrophysics and Cosmology, including the astrophysics of galaxies and galaxy clusters, studies of dark matter and dark energy, and the development of advanced detectors for future satellite missions. Allen leads the X-ray Astronomy and Observational Cosmology (XOC) group at Stanford. His academic background includes a B. Sc. in Physics from Imperial College, University of London (1990), and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Cambridge (1995).
