Marc Lipsitch

Marc Lipsitch is a Lecturer at Stanford University in the Department of Biology. His primary affiliation is with Ecology and Environmental Science. He is also affiliated with the Medicine - Med/Infectious Diseases department at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Lipsitch will join the Stanford faculty with appointments in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine starting January 1, 2026. He is also a Senior Fellow in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, affiliated with the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC), where he will hold the Michael and Barbara Berberian Professorship. Through December 31, 2025, he is Professor of Epidemiology and Director of the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
