Duncan Haldane

Duncan Haldane is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Physics at Princeton University, where he is affiliated with the Department of Physics. His research focuses on Condensed Matter Theory, particularly in the area of strongly-interacting quantum many-body systems. He is known for his work on the fractional quantum Hall effect, topological phases of matter, and topological insulators. Haldane has been recognized for his contributions to theoretical physics, including the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics. He joined Princeton University in 1990 after holding various academic positions at institutions such as the University of Southern California and the University of California, San Diego.
