Michael Aizenman is the Thomas D. Jones Professor of Mathematical Physics at Princeton University. He is a Professor of Physics & Mathematics in the Department of Physics. His research focuses on mathematical physics, analysis, and probability, with a special interest in disorder effects in classical and quantum physics. He has held positions at New York University, Rutgers, and has had short-term visiting positions at Caltech, the University of Paris, and Tel-Aviv University. He received his Ph.D. from Yeshiva University in 1975. He is a Simons Fellow in Mathematics and a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society (AMS). He has received awards including the Frontiers of Science Award in 2023 and the Henri Poincare Prize in 2018.
