Regular biography

Zhanfeng Cui is the Donald Pollock Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on regenerative medical engineering and technologies, including bioreactor technology for tissue culture and stem cell expansion, cryopreservation of stem cells and engineered tissue, and stem cell therapy for neural degeneration and repair. His work also encompasses biomanufacture, bioprocessing, and bioformulation, with an emphasis on synthetic biology approaches, intelligent manufacturing of therapeutics, 3D bioprinting, and bioproduct development. Cui is a Professorial Fellow at Hertford College and the Founding Director of the Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research (OSCAR).
