Alan Cocks

Alan Cocks is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. His research interests include micromechanical modelling, creep deformation and failure, modelling powder processing, and the performance of welded components and thermal barrier coatings. He has contributed to the understanding of fracture in engineering materials and has been involved in various research projects funded by EPSRC and other organizations. Cocks has held academic positions at the University of Leicester and the University of Cambridge, and has been affiliated with several research groups and advisory boards.
