Andrew Ceruzzi

Andrew Ceruzzi is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Engineering Science Department at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Thermofluids Institute. His research focuses on Wind Tunnel Testing, Laser Diagnostics, Aerodynamic Measurement Techniques, Fluid Dynamics, Flow Visualization, Turbulence, Boundary Layer Transition, and Hypersonics. Ceruzzi was born and raised in Maryland, USA, and obtained his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2022. Prior to graduate school, he was a NCAA student athlete in Track & Field and Cross Country at Johns Hopkins University.

Andrew Ceruzzi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford, specializing in hypersonics, laser diagnostics, and wind tunnel testing. His research focuses on developing and applying advanced laser diagnostic techniques, such as focused laser differential interferometry (FLDI), to study high-speed flows, including supersonic and hypersonic boundary layers, turbulent jets, and freestream disturbances. His work addresses challenges in non-intrusive velocimetry and flow characterization in extreme conditions, with applications in wind tunnel testing and hypersonic aerodynamics. Ceruzzi's contributions include experimental investigations into boundary layer instabilities, transition phenomena, and the effects of surface modifications on hypersonic flows.
