Gunnar Martinsson is a Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on numerical linear algebra and matrix computations, with an emphasis on randomized algorithms and their applications to large-scale scientific computing. Martinsson's work includes the development of efficient methods for compressing rank-structured matrices and solving elliptic PDEs.
