Chakraborty Joyraj

Dr. Joyraj Chakraborty is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, Department of Engineering Science. His research interests include Machine Learning, Visualization, Data analysis, Acoustic Signal Processing, and Speech Enhancement. He obtained his PhD from Silesian Technical University, Poland, under the Marie Curie fellowship. Currently, he works on advancing machine learning applications, particularly through transfer learning and ensemble models. He has contributed to fields such as indoor acoustic localization and FBG sensors for asphalt systems during his time at KU Leuven and the University of Twente. He also holds the position of visiting research fellow at the University of Essex.

Joyraj Chakraborty is a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, specializing in Signal processing, Machine Learning, Multi-modal Data Fusion, Ultrasonic NDE, and Edge AI. His research focuses on developing advanced signal processing techniques for structural health monitoring, particularly using embedded ultrasonic sensors and coda wave interferometry for crack detection and damage assessment in concrete structures. He also explores machine learning applications for noise suppression and intelligent speech handover in communication systems. His work emphasizes the integration of multi-modal data for improved accuracy in non-destructive testing and real-time monitoring of infrastructure.
