Regular biography
Jeremy Robertson is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on natural product synthesis, with an emphasis on developing new synthetic strategies and methodologies. His group investigates mechanisms-based hypotheses to discover new chemistry and gain insights into reaction selectivity and efficiency. Research areas include the synthesis of compounds relevant to cancer chemotherapy, neurodegenerative disorders, and cognition. The group also explores the strategic applications of enzymes in synthesis, furan chemistry, free radical processes, and catalysis for complexity generation. Robertson has contributed to the discovery of deltaG®, a nutraceutical, and has collaborated on projects involving chemoenzymatic synthesis and enzyme-mediated reactions. His work has applications in medicinal chemistry, natural product synthesis, and drug discovery.
