Paul McGonigal is Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford, Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on dynamic processes in organic functional materials, including stabilised aromatic carbocations, fluxional carbon cages, and supramolecular chemistry. His group explores techniques in organic synthesis, advanced spectroscopy, and DFT modelling. McGonigal's work investigates how dynamic stereochemistry interfaces with catalytically active metals and how noncovalent bonding impacts optoelectronic properties of luminescent materials.
