Philipp Kukura

Philipp Kukura is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on developing new optical methods with applications in biophysical chemistry, molecular biophysics, and life sciences. His group works on mass photometry, light-scattering-based detection, and imaging of single biomolecules in solution. He is based at the Kavli Centre for Nanoscale Discovery and fosters a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to research. Kukura read Chemistry at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, and obtained a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. He became a tutorial Fellow at Exeter College in 2011 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2016. His work has been supported by the ERC and EPSRC.
