Regular biography
Ji-Seon Kim is Professor of Electronic Materials in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. She joined Oxford in 2025 as part of the Sustainable Chemistry and Materials Initiative. Prior to this, she was Professor of Solid State Physics at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on sustainable molecular semiconductors, including conjugated small molecules and polymers, with applications in optoelectronics, solar energy conversion, and biosensing. Her group investigates molecular semiconductors for novel optoelectronic devices and develops advanced nanometrology techniques. She also works with industrial partners such as Samsung Electronics, Oninn, and the National Physical Laboratory.
