Julie Jalila Kalmoni is a Lecturer in Practical Chemistry at the University of Oxford, Department of Chemistry. She completed her Chemistry MSci degree and PhD at University College London (UCL), where she was part of the first cohort to pursue the Air Pollution Project. Her PhD research focused on the fabrication of fluorine-free superhydrophobic materials and their modification with metal oxides. Julie was awarded the "Best Poster Award" at the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Surface Coatings Conference in 2023 and received the Horizon Prize by the RSC for her work on the Lab_14 project. In 2023, she was awarded Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. In 2024, she was selected to attend the "Broadening Horizons in the Chemical Sciences" scheme run by the RSC.
