Ed Anderson

Ed Anderson is Professor of Organic Chemistry and Head of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford, Department of Chemistry. His research spans synthetic methodology and its application in target-oriented synthesis, with a focus on natural product synthesis, neglected parasitic diseases, bioisosteres, small rings, heteroatom-substituted alkynes, mechanistic study, and DNA chemistry. He collaborates with academic and pharmaceutical groups globally. Anderson joined Oxford in 2007 as an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow and was appointed Professor in 2016. He became Head of Organic Chemistry in 2021. Prior to Oxford, he worked at the University of Cambridge and the Scripps Research Institute.
