Booth Martin

Professor Martin Booth is a Statutory Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Department of Engineering Science. He holds a Fellowship at St Hugh's College and is also a College Lecturership holder at Lincoln College. His research focuses on the development of dynamic optical methods for applications in biomedical imaging, laser-based manufacturing, and photonics. He has been involved in various research projects, including adaptive optics for microscopy and laser fabrication techniques. His work has contributed to advancements in superresolution microscopy and diamond photonics. He has held several academic positions, including a Junior Research Fellowship at Christ Church and a Royal Academy of Engineering/EPSRC Research Fellowship. He was appointed as the Department’s new Statutory Professor of Electrical Engineering and Chair in Optical and Photonic Engineering in 2023.
