Aditi Mitra is a Professor of Physics and Director of the Center for Quantum Phenomena at New York University. She holds a B.Sc. in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, India (1993), an M.Sc. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India (1995), and a Ph.D. in Physics from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA (2002). After postdoctoral research at Columbia University and the University of Toronto, she joined NYU in 2006. Her research interests include strongly correlated systems, topological states of matter, quantum phase transitions, nanoscale physics, and dissipative and nonequilibrium phenomena.
